DONATE YOUR ACCENT!
One goal of the project is to create an extensive library of dialect and accent resources for Latine actors! We believe Latine voices belong at the center of Latine storytelling, and this library is one way to make that real. If you self-identify as Latine/o/a/x, we'd love to have your voice in our collection. Every donation adds depth, specificity, and authenticity to a resource built by and for our communities, giving actors, directors, coaches, and educators the tools to represent us with care and accuracy.
If you’d like to donate your accent to this library, below are sample passages to record yourself reading, and some suggested questions to answer for a sample of conversational speech. Please record yourself both reading and the conversational speech. If you’re bilingual, we’d love to hear you in English and Spanish. If you only speak one language, that’s fine too! Phone recordings work great.

Passage in English
Bertha loves her morning routine. Every day she wakes up, looks for her favorite tan mug, and makes her coffee. She blends one half cup of milk and two teaspoons of pure cane sugar into her drink. Then at ten o’clock she puts on her telenovela from Guatemala. This show is about a young kid with a vigorous passion for jazz. Each week Bertha enjoys being a part of the drama in their lives. After her show, she calls her friend, the nurse Paula, who lives near a market in Portland. The two women happily chat for one hour. After her phone call, Bertha drives north one mile for her Zumba class.
